Analog Photography and Mixed Media Animation
The artistic process is a highly vulnerable one to document. As a creative, I am consistently inspired by the process of other artists. I love to capture other people’s lifelines and the things that bring them the most happiness. By artists, I am referring to someone who dedicates themself to a craft, from fine art to sports. My second project will be broken into three parts - a series of Yashica A medium format portraits of artists at work, and a multimedia video and accompanying book. I want to use still portraiture to capture one aspect of the artistic process, and the video to record them at work. With this video, I will then break it into individual frames, print them out as contact sheets, manually manipulate them using cuts, drawings, and paint, and then scan them back into a video software. This will create a short, 1-2 minute compilation of each highlighted artist. These frames will then be glued into a book, and potentially be printed and hung onto the wall as well. The keywords I am basing this project on are unique experiences, daydream, and evolution.
